Europe`s energy transition opens a pathway towards a transformation of the global energy sector from fossil-based to zero-carbon by the second half of this century. Germany has taken a pioneering role in Europe since is the government decided to phase out coal and nuclear energy.
Technological innovation is crucial for the success of this transition. Participation in the global hydrogen market requires new, market-oriented forms of cooperation that are long-term oriented, risk- and innovation-friendly, and implemented in partnerships between governments and companies. The geoeconomic importance of the Gulf region as a supplier of all sorts of energy is undisputed and will remain crucial for energy supply worldwide.
